The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a larger and more advanced development of the F/A-18C/D Hornet that entered service in 1999, and the F/A-18F is the twoseater variant of the US Navy's latest carrier-based fighter/attack aircraft. Aside of the 3 Test Evaluation squadrons, 12 Navy squadrons are equipped with this new twoseater, replacing mainly the legendary Tomcat.
