The Schleicher ASK 21 is the most produced and successful training glider in the world and is built from the company Alexander Schleicher. It is that successful due to its broad range of uses; 650 gliders have already been built. Stunt, training, overland and competition flying - with a possible load of 4 to 6,5 Gs everything is possible with the ASK 21. It is up to 280 kilometers/hour fast.

The LS8, with a total build of over 500 units so far, is the most produced glider of the last 10 years and is the best guarantee of leading positions in competitions to date. Numerous placings in national and international championships in both the standard and the racing classes vouch for the singularity of the concept and the superiority of the performance of the LS8. The features particularly praised by all the pilots are its harmonious flying characteristics and the outstanding handling of its controls. Since the original manufacturers "Rolladen-Schneider" have been taken over by "DG-Flugzeugbau" the production range of the LS8 is being enlarged by some modifications.

During the 1960s the West came under increasing threat from the ever-growing tank regiments of the Eastern bloc and the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) began to consider using helicopters to combat these units. Initially the Bundeswehr had ordered 130 helicopters of the type SE 3130 Alouette II. This was followed by a further order of 117 Alouette II with the first aircraft delivered in mid 1959. The helicopters were fitted with the Nord 5210 - also known as the SS-11 - and this missile could be used to attack targets on the ground. This SS-11 could achieve a maximum speed of 492 km/h. For flight testing of the Alouette II helicopter armed with the SS-11 in the anti-tank configuration, a comprehensive range of modifications was carried out. The control system for the SS-11 was installed in front of the left-hand seat and could by operated via a weapons sight by the on-board weapons officer. Two weapons pylons - one on each side of the helicopter - could carry two SS-11 missiles each. The firing trials were carried out by the testing unit of the Heeresflieger-Lehr-Staffel 700 (Army Air Corps training squadron) in Achum close to Bueckeburg, Germany, in 1962. Results from testing the first five helicopters did not, however, come up to expectations and the programme was soon discontinued.

The Hawker Hunter is still one of the most elegant jet fighters ever to have been developed, a genuine legend. It went into service in large numbers with the Royal Air Force from 1954 onwards and was a popular aircraft with many aerobatics units. The prototype flew for the first time in 1951 and two years later set the ultimate speed record. The Hunter is known for its simplicity of operation and its stable flying characteristics, making it the favourite of every pilot who has ever flown it. About 2,000 Hunters have been built; they were in active service with 18 different air forces. During the nineteen fifties and sixties the Hunter was known by the RAF and NATO as the "watcher of the skies". Although the F6 version was essentially designed as a fighter interceptor, it could also carry bombs and up to 16 guided missiles. Some of the Dutch F6s also received AIM-9B Sidewinder missiles that were carried on external pylons. Most of the Hunter F6s were used by squadrons stationed in Great Britain, but by 1957 the RAF squadrons in Germany and some other units in the near and far east also had it. Many Hunters were exported or manufactured under licence, under which system the Belgian and Dutch air forces were two of the main NATO users. The last Hunter did not go out of service until 16.12.1994, a splendid tribute to the capabilities of a magnificent aircraft.

The first EC-135s used by the military were delivered on 13th September 2000 to German army flying unit weapons training school in Bückeburg. There they were used for transport and training and liaison flights. Before that the EC-135 had been successfully introduced by the Deutsche Rettungsflugwacht e.V. (German air rescu service), the ADAC and their Austrian counterparts the öAMTC, which brought the were looking for a new and larger liaison helicopter. After an intensive test phase the first 15 helicopters were ordered.

The Bf 109 is one of best known Luftwaffe fighters of World War II, with a total production of over 33,000 in a wide variety of versions. In 1943, in response to the massive Allied bomber threat, the order was placed for a high-altitude fighter. The prototype 109 K-4 was made in October 1943. With the K series all the previous modifications to the G series were united in one aircraft giving an overall improvement to its flying capabilities. For the new DB-605 D with large loader and MG 131 a wider engine cowling without any protruberances was designed. The engine cowling is shown without any protruberances. One MK-108 was used as an engine-mounted cannon. The K-4 also had an aerodynamic fairing in order to improve performance. The plywood equipment panel was redesigned. To save on aluminium, some of the components were made of wood and sheet steel. In production all the machines were equipped with an MW-50. Up to April 1945 about 1700 of the K-4 were produced.

The Spitfire was able to take a more powerful engine without affecting its good control characteristics.
The Mk.22, 278 examples of which were built, was therefore fitted with a more powerful Griffon engine together with a revised wing design and bubble canopy.
