The Super Cub is without doubt the most famous aircraft from the Piper Aircraft Corporation. The PA-18 was introduced in 1949 and for some decades defined the image of the Piper Aircraft Corporation. The simple but robust design has been continually developed and improved with more powerful engines added. Overall more than 40,000 Cub and Super Cub's were built. This makes it the most produced aircraft in its class. A special version of the PA-18 is used in the forest areas of North America and Canada. Equipped with thick balloon tires, the PA-18 can land and take-off on dry river beds making it operationally very flexible.
