The Panther was hurried into production for the 1943 advance on Kursk, before reliability problems had been sorted out. Although it went on to have a fiercesome reputation, with the US Army suggesting it took five Shermans to knock out a single Panther, the Battle of Kursk was an initial disaster for the Panzer-Regiments using it. (Note: The production model differs slightly from that depicted by the deletion of the machine gun on the front of the hull. This is to make the model more accurate)
