Sanders Coaches was started by Norman and Gladys Sanders in December 1975.From small beginings the fleet grew to over one hundred vehicles in 1998 the backbone being Bedfords in the early years. The fleet is now predominently DAF with some Mercs, Dennis, Setra and Volvos. Currently 90 vehicles are operated.

Built by AEC at its Southall works , the first Q -Type double decker made its appearance in October 1932. Only 23 double deck Q's were built, withthe majority being bodied by Metro-Cammell and at a price tag of 1,225. Westcliff -on-Sea Motor Services was the only regular AEC customer to purchase a Q-Type double decker from new this bus had a 60 seat Metro-Cammell bodywork and was the only Q double deck in service not to carry a fleet number.
