Since the operation of City Airbus routes ceased a couple years ago, the new lives of the ex-Airbus Volvo Olympian / Alexander Royales have been of interest to British enthusiasts. This model represents fleet number 34200 (V00 273), which was delivered new to London United in the spring of 1996 for London Airbus services. National Express purchased the Airbus operation from London United in 1999 along with the 19 Olympians, which operated it. These vehicles were unusual in having Air Conditioning, only 9 seats in the lower saloon, luggage racks and a wheelchair space & lift. Following the reduction of Airbus services, First Bus acquired many Olympians from the dealer Ensign bus The Olympian / Royale was introduced into First Devon & Cornwall fleet October 2004 and they were dedicated vehicles on the X80 route from Plymouth to Torquay. The vehicles can seat 43 people on the top deck and 22 on the lower deck plus one wheelchair. They are still fitted with air-conditioning, which comes in very useful during the summer months for visitors and residents alike who enjoy the warm climate of the Devon Riviera. more.. | |

UK5017 represents fleet number 91 (WA56 OZR) that was new to Plymouth Citybus in 2006. This Mercedes-Benz Citaro is one of seven such vehicles manufactured to Euro 5 specifications for this municipal operator and delivered in the winter of 2006. The vehicles commenced service from January 2007 and have been used predominantly on one of the company’s flagship routes the City Centre to Ernesettle service 43 where in their striking livery they are assisting in changing the perception of ‘die hard’ car user that public transport is a realistic alternative mode of travel. | |

The Eden Project is owned by the Eden Trust. It is more than just a green theme park. Eden is about connecting plants, people and places. It is a living demonstration of regeneration and aims to reconnect people with their environments locally and globally. The bus is decorated with all icons of the park, including the Humid Tropics Biome, plants, flowers, etc. CN02 EDN is recreated as running on route 5, from the Eden Project to the Park & Ride stops in the Apple, Banana, Lime, Plum, Strawberry, Melon, Cherry, Lemon and Mango zones.
