Albatros 1/1250 Savarona, Emily Cadwallader's Luxury Yacht, 1931 (AL122)
Emily had this ship built in Germany during the depression. The largest private yacht in the world, the outcry among the American public that she had not had it built in USA caused her tax affairs to be investigated and she took refuge on the ship. Tiring of her self-imposed exile, she put Savarona up for sale, turned down an offer from Hitler and sold it to the Turks as a State Yacht.

Built for Mrs Emily Cadwallader in 1931 to be bigger than J.P.Morgan's yacht, she was sold to the Turks in 1938 to provide a state yacht for their president, Kamal Ataturk. Despite a couple of devastating fires, she was repaired and restored and is still in existence today.
