Originally built by the Mikoyan and Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union with a NATO
ickname ???Fishbed???. No other jet has had as many planes produced as the Mig-21. Depending on
the reference source 8,000 ??? 13,000 planes of all versions were made in the Soviet Union, under
license to allied countries and China without license. At the time of it???s introduction into the Soviet
Air Force service in 1959, it was exactly what they wanted. A small, fast, agile, dependable and
most importantly simple making it easy to turn out great numbers of the plane. The skies of
Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Central America seemed to be filled with thousands of the Mig-
21. Because of its relatively low cost since it was heavily subsidized by the Soviets, it became the
plane of choice for many third world countries.
Taking this into account this plane this plane has seen more wars then any other modern day jet.
The Mig-21 was used in front line service for over 30 years equaling that of the McDonnell
Douglas F-4 Phantom II. There were 5 generations of the plane in many versions and each
generation brought with it great improvements over its predecessors.

An excellent model of the Candian F-104 Starfighter jet fighter of the 1950 & 60s. The stubby, razor thin wings and powerful jet engine allowed supersonic flight to be maintained, at the cost of stability. The CF-104 was manufactured for the Canadian Air Force by Canadair under licence from Lockheed-Martin and optimized for a reconnaissance and strike role, with nuclear capability.
This model carries the classic silver or natural aluminium finish with white wings and bright red markings, intended to aid search and rescue efforts when aircraft were lost or forced to land in the arctic white-out. As usual with Hobby Master models a range of optional accessories is supplied, including landing gear or well covers and alternative cockpit canopy parts.

The RCAF received their first CF-104 in March 1962. Although originally designed as a
supersonic interceptor the Canadian Air Force used it primarily for low level strike and
reconnaissance. The Canadian version of the F-104 was capable of carrying a ventral
mounted Vinten Vicon pod with 4 cameras inside for reconnaissance picture taking.
On September 4, 1963 number 12900 was the 200th and final CF-104 produced and
entered service on January 10, 1964. The CF-104 retired from service in 1985 when it
was replaced by the CF-18 Hornet. Over the 25 years of active service 110 aircraft were
lost to accidents earning it nicknames like ???Widow Maker??? and ???Lawn Dart???. The RCAF
CF-104 probably had the most flying time of any variant with an average of 6,000 hours
per plane over their life time compared to the Luftwaffe???s 3,000 hours.

protected by titanium armor; a 30 mm seven-barrel Gatling gun; a wide array of bombs
and missiles. This plane packs a heavy punch and can stay on scene a long time to
deliver.
In the Gulf War, A-10s had a mission capable rate of 95.7 percent, flew 8,100 sorties and
launched 90 percent of the AGM-65 Maverick missiles and were vital assets during
Operation Desert Storm and Operation Noble Anvil.

Powered by a Rolls-Royce engine the first F9F flew in 1947. These new engines were
fuel hungry and with no extra internal space permanent wing-tip tanks were added.
These tanks also had the unexpected benefit of increasing the aircraft roll rate. In the
Korean War the F9F was the primary USN aircraft for ground-attack and served with
distinction. However it was realized that the Panther was inferior to the MiG aircraft so a
swept-wing version was developed. The new aircraft retained the F9F designation and
was called the Cougar.

Originally built by the Mikoyan and Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union with a NATO
nickname ???Fishbed???. No other jet has had as many planes produced as the Mig-21. Depending
on the reference source 8,000 ??? 13,000 planes of all versions were made in the Soviet Union,
under license to allied countries and China without license. At the time of its introduction into the
Soviet Air Force service in 1959, it was exactly what they wanted. A small, fast, agile, dependable
and most importantly simple making it easy to turn out great numbers of the plane. The skies of
Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Central America seemed to be filled with thousands of the Mig-
21. Because of its relatively low cost since it was heavily subsidized by the Soviets, it became the
plane of choice for many third world countries.
Taking this into account this plane this plane has seen more wars then any other modern day jet.
The Mig-21 was used in front line service for over 30 years equaling that of the McDonnell
Douglas F-4 Phantom II. There were 5 generations of the plane in many versions and each
generation brought with it great improvements over its predecessors.

October 1975 saw delivery of the first USAF A-10a and deployment in March 1976. Built
specifically for close ground support the pilot is protected by titanium armor while being
covered by a bubble canopy giving a commanding view. The Warthog has everything
needed to survive, dual engines; self-sealing fuel cells; redundant flight control systems
protected by titanium armor; a 30 mm seven-barrel Gatling gun; a wide array of bombs
and missiles. This plane packs a heavy punch and can stay on scene a long time to
deliver.
In the Gulf War, A-10s had a mission capable rate of 95.7 percent, flew 8,100 sorties and
launched 90 percent of the AGM-65 Maverick missiles and were vital assets during
Operation Desert Storm and Operation Noble Anvil.

The F-4J was the last version produced for the USN and USMC. The J version was basically an upgraded B version with new radar and avionics as well as a better engine that required a longer afterburner nozzle. One of the most noticeable changes to the J version is what isn't there; the infrared seeker under the nose was deleted. Also missing was an internal gun but Sparrow and Sidewinder missiles were used for intercepting. Between 1966 and 1972 there were 522 F-4Js built. The F-4J had the distinction of scoring the only USMC air-to- air combat victory in Vietnam and it also was the last US operational aircraft in South East Asia. and the ANG until 1979. The F-100 commonly referred to as the ???Hun???, a
shortened version of ???one hundred??? was the first US fighter capable of
attaining supersonic speed in level flight. The Hun was used extensively as
close-air-support in South Vietnam. The F-100 suffered from landing gear and
brake parachute failures, electrical problems, 500 of the 1,274 F- 100Ds that
were built were lost mostly due to these failures.

In the early 1980s the Japanese Defense Ministry???s Technical Research and
Development Institute (TRDI) and the Air Development and Test Wing (ADTW) began the
project known as FS-X. The project was to develop a made in Japan fighter to replace
their aging Mitsubishi F-1. It was finally decided to make a derivative of the F-16C using
subcontractors. Construction began in 1993 with the first single-seat FS-X prototype
serial number 63-0001 being completed January 12, 1995. In 1996 the FS-X designation
was changed to XF-2A and in December 1997 the TRDI serial was changed to JASDF
serial 63-8501 c/n 1001.

The USAF developed a requirement for a new air superiority fighter to replace the F-15 Eagle. Two proposals were submitted with the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor being selected as the new Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF). The aircraft is constructed using 39% titanium, 24% composite material, 16% aluminum and 1% thermoplastic by weight. All these components contribute to the F-22 being a light weight, extremely maneuverable, extremely fast aircraft that uses stealth technology. The Convair F-102 Delta Dagger was designed to be an interceptor aircraft and act as the core
of USAF air defenses in the late 1950s. The F-102 first appeared in service in 1956 with the
task to intercept Soviet bombers. The official name for the F-102 was ???Delta Dagger??? but the
most common term used was ???Deuce???. There was 889 F-102As manufactured when production
ended in September 1958. The Deuce served in Vietnam on fighter patrols and bomber escort.
15 F-102s were lost while in Vietnam.

Powered by a Rolls-Royce engine the first F9F flew in 1947. These new engines were
fuel hungry and with no extra internal space permanent wing-tip tanks were added.
These tanks also had the unexpected benefit of increasing the aircraft roll rate. In the
Korean War the F9F was the primary USN aircraft for ground-attack and served with
distinction. However it was realized that the Panther was inferior to the MiG aircraft so a
swept-wing version was developed. The new aircraft retained the F9F designation and
