Track Cycling has been a part of the Olympic programme since the first modern games in Athens in 1896 and was first held indoors at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
Races take place on an indoor velodrome, a 250m wooden oval, with straights banked at 12 degrees and the corners banked at a steep 42 degree angle.
