Dermot Conroy Livestock Haulage has been in business for over a decade and it has grown steadily over that time and now has a fleet of modern Scania Tractor units and Livestock Export Trailers. From their base in Moy, Co. Tyrone, they specialise in Livestock haulage covering Ireland, the UK and Europe. Corgi 1/50 Burrell 5 NHP DCC Road Locomotive No.4093 Dorothy 1931 (CC20511)

Road Locomotive No.4093 'Dorothy' was the last 3 speed Burrell built in 1931 at their Garrett works in Leiston, Suffolk. It was supplied new by agents Stenner & Gunn of Rackenham in Devon, for threshing and saw bench work.

Jack Steere of North Devon purchased the engine in 1934 for similar purposes until 1949. Dorothy was first rallied in the late 1960s after some preservation work by Bert Canton, she is now owned by Dennis and Brian Smith of Banbury.

Robert Clifford-Wing of Cornwall is the current owner of this fine steam engine which dates back to 1911. 'Clinker' was purchased new by Wingham Agricultural Implement Co, Kent for road haulage until early 1920s when it was sold to Mornement and Ray of East Harling, Norfolk where it was used in later years for dredging the Fens.

It was then purchased by Michael Ward of Oxton who restored and rallied 'Clinker' extensively before a major overhaul in 1991. Robert has been the owner since late 2004.

P & C Hamilton began trading in October 1982 with the purchase of a second hand Seddon Atkinson tractor unit, doing traction work out of Ireland. The company now operates a modern fleet of vehicles from their purpose built premises on a 1.5 acre site in Girvan on the Ayrshire coast.

Their fleet is currently comprised of Scania Rs, MAN TGAs. DAF 95s and Scania Ts including the superb cab modelled here. The trailers are all 13.6 metre Gray and Adams reefers, some of which have dual temperature capabilities. The Company s core business is the transport of fresh and frozen food stuffs throughout the UK and Western Europe.

C. J. Haynes & Son was founded in 1920 in the village of Sherington, Buckinghamshire from where they still operate some 81 years later. A family run company, Haynes & Son was originally established to transport bricks for the London Brick Co. Based at Stewartby. Today, the company operate nationally and have progressed from flatbeds and tippers to their present fleet of striking Scania tractor units.

This particular model is driven by the great grandson of the founder, as C. J. Haynes & Son enter its fourth generation and it can be seen regularly at Truck shows around Europe. All their vehicles have been fully customised internally and externally with some in-house specialist parts to improve overall performance.

British Road Services (BRS) was formed following the nationalisation of Britain's road haulage industry, under the British Transport Commission, as a result of the Transport Act 1947. The nationalised operation managed to create a strong and viable transport network with iconic workhorses such as the ERF KV, AEC MkV and Leyland (LAD) 8 wheel tipper, all of which, have been modelled by Corgi in the past.

This Scania LB110 tandem axle tilt was brand new to the BRS Depot Swindon in 1971. This unit was originally ordered to allow the group to compare it against a Scammell Crusader using identical continental routes. It fared well in comparison in terms of driver comfort and servicing capability.
