Dapol N Colas Rail Freight 56105 Doncaster Build Class 56 Co-Co Diesel Locomotive 2D-004-009

A highly detailed model of the BR class 56 heavy freight diesel locomotives introduced from 1976.

These locomotives were built in several batches, the first group coming from Electroputere in Rumania, with subsequent builds delivered from BRs own works at Doncaster and Crewe. Each batch had quite obvious detail differences, allowing the builders to be recognised quite easily.
Dapols tooling design for these models allows for many of these obvious detail changes to be replicated with finely etched grilles and separately fitted handrails.

56105 is painted in the current Colas Rail livery yellow and orange livery.

Dapol N Foster Yeoman 59002 Alan J Day Class 59 Co-Co Diesel Freight Locomotive FY Silver & Blue 2D-005-000

BR class 59 was the first entry into the British rail traction business by US and Canada locomotive builder Electro-Motive. Then part of General Motors the class 59s were designed to meet the specifications of an order from Foster Yeoman for locomotives to be operated on BR dedicated to the haulage of FY stone trains from Merehead quarry. The success and exceptional reliability of the 59s resulted in ARC, operators of the neighbouring Whatley quarry, and National Power investing in small fleets of dedicated 59s for the haulage of their trains. The same basic design, revised to accomodate a newer engine and updated equipment, provided the basis of the 'class 66 generation' locomotives for EWS.

This Dapol model features etched grilles and separately fitted handrails, with the tooling designed carefully to model the design changes made between the three sub-classes.

Dapol N ARC 59103 Village of Great Elm Class 59/1 Co-Co Diesel Freight Locomotive ARC Mustard Yellow 2D-005-001

Livery to be confirmed, Dapol have listed this model as ARC livery, but supplied a photo in Hanson Aggregates livery.

The class 59 locomotives were designed to the specifications of aggregate quarrying company Foster Yeoman and, having proved to be powerful and reliable locomotives, FYs' principal competitor decided to order a dedicated fleet of locomotives for their rail services. Designated class 59/1 the ARC locomotives incorporated a few detail changes found necessary from service under British conditions. The most noticable change was the elimination of the central headlights and adoption of light cluster units over the buffers. These changes were retained for subsequent order built for National Power.

This Dapol model features etched grilles and separately fitted handrails, with the tooling designed carefully to model the design changes made between the three sub-classes.

Dapol N DB Schenker 59206 John F Yeoman Class 59/2 Co-Co Diesel Freight Locomotive DB Red 2D-005-002

59206 was one of the first locomotives to be repainted into the DB Schenker red livery after the German rail freight company bought EWS.

The class 59 locomotives were designed to the specifications of aggregate quarrying company Foster Yeoman, with a second batch being ordered for ARC. National Power also took up the option of dedicated locomotives, a batch ordering near-identical to the ARC locos, but capable of 75mph maximum speed vs the 60mph limit of the aggregate company locomotives.
During the process of rail privatisation National Powers' coal traffic was sought-after business and EWS obtained the contract, taking ownership of the locomotives. Being slightly different to the standard class 66 the 59/2s have in recent years been found working alongside the Foster Yeoman and ARC/Hanson 59s from the Westbury area, where crews and fitters are familiar with the class.

This Dapol model features etched grilles and separately fitted handrails, with the tooling designed carefully to model the design changes made between the three sub-classes.

2007 saw the return to the skies of the only airworthy Vulcan Bomber following two years of restoration by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust. XH558 delighted aviation enthusiasts at air displays around the country before being permanently grounded at the end of 2015. In 2016 a unique relationship was formed between DRS and the Trust, which culminated in the naming of a Class 37 locomotive (37424 built at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows by English Electric) as 37558 'Avro Vulcan XH558'. To celebrate the synergy between these two outstanding examples of British innovation and engineering prowess from the late 1950's, we are proud to produce this special collector's edition pack which will be sure to delight railway and aviation enthusiasts alike.

Graham Farish N EWS 60035 Class 60 Co-Co Diesel EWS Maroon & Gold 371-350A

Bachmann Graham Farish N Gauge 371-350A EWS Class 60 Locomotive 66035 EWS Maroon & Gold Livery

A superb model of the BR class 60 heavy freight locomotive in EWS red and gold livery.

The centrally mounted motor drives all six axles while the diecast chassis has been carefully designed  to keep the cab interiors clear and provide extra space behind the large bodyside grilles. This has allowed the body structe memebres and equipment visible through the grilles to be represented very effectively. Roof detailing is also excellent, with good relief around the large exhaust silencer box? making this unit stand out. Wire handrails and sanding pipes complete the factory fitted details, while direction controlled lighting really makes the locomotive stand out when running.

Standard N gauge couplers are fitted, a small additional bag is supplied containing the deep headstock plates and plows, plus the air brake pipes for modellers wishing to finish their models with these.
Era 9. DCC Ready 6 pin decoder required for DCC operation. Directional lighting. NEM plug-in couplers. Length 144mm.

Bachmann Graham Farish N Gauge 371-650A Virgin Trains Class 57/3 locomotive 57306 Jeff Tracy Virgin Trains livery

Brush Traction developed the class 57 locomotive with Freighliner, giving class 47s locomotive bodyshells an extensive overhaul and equiping them with the highly regarded EMD 645 engine, allied to updated electrical systems. Virgin Trains selected the class 57 design for service in the 'Thunderbird' rescue locomoitve role for the new Pendolino electric trains being built for the West Coast route, ordering 16 locomotives and licencing the names of the Thunderbirds characters to identify the fleet. These class 57/3 locomotives were equiped with the couplers used on the Pendolino trains in additon to standard drawgear and had been intended to haul Pendolino trains to traditional West Coast destinations away from the main electricified route.

This detailed model from the Graham farish N gauge range is powered by a centrally mounted motor driving all six axles. Etched panels allow the stainless steel radiator grilles to be nicely recreated.

Era 9. DCC Ready 6 pin decoder required for DCC operation. Directional lighting. NEM plug-in couplers. Length 130mm.
