Liliput by Bachmann L344360 Passenger Coach Class C569 Welshpool & Llanfair Ep. III-V
Seeking passenger rolling stock for the re-opening of the 2'6" (760mm) gauge Welshpool & Llanfair Railway as a heritage line the preservation group made contact with railways in Austria, where 760mm gauge was common and were offered four 4-wheel open balcony coaches by the Zillertalbahn. The open balcony coaches have been a notable feature of the Welshpool line ever since.
These were a standard style used in Austria and common on many other narrow gauge lines in Europe, with early examples built almost entirely in wood, later replaced steadily with iron and steel. Both types have been modelled by Liliput and these are now to be released finished as the coaches transferred to the Welshpool & Llanfair line.
Ideal for use alongside the recently released Peco OO9 range and the forthcoming Bachmann OO9 War Department Bladwin locomotive and stock.
