Mountford 1/1250 MZ009 USNS Montford Point, 2012, in semi-submerged condition

A 1/1250 scale resin model of USNS Montford Point by Mountford models MZM009.

Montford Point is modelled with just the upper surface of the deck visible "under" the water. In this trim, she could load or unload the air-cushion landing ships that she is designed to carry. The forecastle & poop are joined by a thin metal strip painted blue over red to represent the deck under water and to keep the fore and after parts of the ship model in their correct position.
