Navis Neptun 1/1250 USS Wyoming, BB32, in WW1 306

Wyoming and Arkansas (BB33) were the last 12" gun battleships in the US navy. Arkansas served in the Grand Fleet during WW1 and served in the Atlantic in WW2. Wyoming became a training ship in the 1920s and served as a a gunnery training ship in WW2.

Michigan (BB27) and South Carolina (BB26) were limited by Congress to 16,000 tons and machinery for 18 kt only was installed. This left them unable to operate with the later ships but they introduced superfiring main guns to the battlefleets of the world.

Saratoga Model Shipyard 1/1250 Culgoa AF-3, refrigerated supply ship, 1898-1921 SMY64

A 1/1250 scale metal model painted in white & buff as a US refrigerated stores ship for the Great White Fleet on its round the world voyage. Culgoa was bought  by the US during the Spanish American war to supply US fleets in the Pacific & Caribean. She was not designated USS or USNS so that she could collect supplies from neutral ports without fear of internment. Later she would carry both official designations and she served with the Great White Fleet in tropical livery. She was in overall grey by 1912 and during WW1 she crossed the Atlantic to service US ships in Europe for a total of 7 crossings. Laid up in 1920, she was sold to trade but was scrapped in 1922.

Navis Neptun 1/1250 USS St Louis, an American Armoured Cruiser,1906 331N

Modelled in the white & buff livery of "The Great White Fleet"! St. Louis was probably obsolete in 1906 the year the advent of Dreadnought changed the shape of warships forever. Harking back to the previous century, the armoured cruiser could still 'fly the flag' as long as there wasn't a modern adversary to be encountered.

The main armament carried, 14 x 15.2cm (6") was quite powerful.
