Navis Neptun 702N Szent Istvan, an Austro-Hungarian Dreadnought Battleship from WW1 1/1250
A 1/1250 scale model of Szent Istvan in 1917 by Navis Neptun 702N.
Szent Istvan was sunk by the Italian torpedo boat, MAS 15 of Premuda Island in 1918. The spectacular capsize was filmed and is still shown today when documentary fim makers wish to show battleships sinking. The upturned hull model is available as a Coastlines model from Antics.
Szent Istvan was the last of the Tegetthoff class to complete and differed from the other three in the upper bridge platform built around the fore-funnel and fitted with only two engines and propellers to facilitate construction in Hungary.
