This die-cast model features fine panel line detailing across the wings and fuselage, a freely rotating propeller and seated pilot. Landing gear parts are supplied to display the gear raised or lowered and a display stand is included.

Limited Edition of 2300

No.258 Squadron was originally formed on 25 July 1918 from 523, 524 and 529 flights at Luce Bay and disbanded on 5 March 1919. On 20 November 1940 No.258 reformed at Leconfield as a fighter squadron, taking over 263 Squadrons Hurricanes at Drem. It began flying defensive patrols in January 1941 and moved later in the month to the Isle of Man. The squadron moved south in April, flying sweeps over France and patrols over coastal shipping. In October the squardon prepared for a move to the Middle East, the aircrew departing at the end of the month. The outbreak of war in the Far East resulted in a diversion to Singapore, but after only ten days it was withdrawn to Sumatra. Following Japanese landings the squadron was evacuated to Java, its surviving aircraft passing to 605 squadron and its remaining personnel leaving for Australia. G Squadron, based at Ratmalana and Colombo racecourse was renumbered 258 Squadron on March 1, 1942 and its Hurricanes were soon in action during the Japanese carrier strike on Colombo early in April. No further raids took place and the squadron moved to Ceylon in January 1943, returning to the Burma front in August. Sweeps and escort missions occupied the squadron until May 1944 when it was withdrawn to re-equip with Thunderbolts.
