Corgi 1/72 German Messerschmitt Bf110 C-4/B, Schnell Kampf Geschwader 210, Russian Front 1941 (AA38506)
One of the most famous of the Messerschmitt Bf110 units, Geschwader 210 adorned their machines with a very recognisable emblem on the nose of their aircraft. The ?Waspen Staffel? as they became known, operated across all fronts during the Second World War, from the arid climate of the North African front to the bleak winter tundra of the Russian front in the winter of 1941, as depicted by this faithful replica.
The winter wash was applied to help the normally dark coloured Bf110 blend in better when on operations over a snow covered landscape. However, care was taken to ensure that the winter wash did not encroach upon the elaborate unit markings, or the tactical and unit markings of the aircraft.

Corgi 1/72 RAF Hawker Typhoon Germany 1945 Diecast Model Aircraft (AA36503)
By 1944/5 the Typhoon had become a formidable ground attack aircraft that played a considerable part in the destruction of German ground forces in Normandy in the period after D Day. Corgi have modelled the aircraft to their usual high standard. The Corgi model is manufactured in die cast metal, giving an all round feel of quality and excellence. The painting and detailing of the model is finished to the highest standards, and can be displayed either on it's wheel in a landed state, or on the stand supplied to give the appearance of flight. Model wingspan 175mm,Rocket firing Typhoon 1B's had the misfortune to be participants in one of the greatest catastrophes of WW2, the sinking of three German ships, in Lubeck bay in the Baltic, that contained concentration camp prisoners. A well-executed attack, on the 3rd May 1945, resulted in around 8000 casualties. It appears that the allied airmen had unwittingly carried out the intentions of the SS, who had been given the instruction that concentration camp prisoners were not to survive. More details of this event will be added when time permits

Corgi 1/72 Hawker Hart K2986 600 City of London Sqn RAuxAF January 1935 (AA39601)
Entering service in 1930, the Hawker Hart was possibly the most versatile aircraft of the 'Inter war' period. Designed by Sydney Camm as a two-seat day bomber, it spawned a family of variants that included a fighter, seaplane, reconnaissance aircraft, dive bomber and trainer.
No. 600 (City of London) Squadron RAuxAF was formed at RAF Northolt on 14th October 1925. It moved to RAF Hendon at the end of 1926, replacing its DH.9As, with more modern Westland Wapitis in 1929. It was designated a fighter squadron in July 1934.
K2986 was part of a batch of Harts delivered to 600 Squadron in January 1935, pending the arrival of Hawker Demons. They were distinguished by the squadron's colourful red and white markings worn on the upper wing and fuselage sides. By 1937 the conversion to Demons was complete and K2986 was shipped as SR-4 to the Southern Rhodesian Air Force for use in the advanced training and army-co-operation role.

Corgi 1/72 Fairey Swordfish MkI L2742 81 NAS HMS Courageous 1937 with Floats (AA36310A)
The Swordfish was equally at home on wheels or floats which were easily interchanged, even on the flight deck of a warship. When operated with floats the aircraft would be recovered after flight by use of a flight deck crane. When operated from capital ships the catapult was used for launching and recovery was again by means of the ship's crane.
'529' was taken on strength by 810 squadron aboard HMS Courageous in December 1937. It was operated in both wheel and float configuration. Later it served with 701 Catapult Flight operating on exercises with capital warships such as HMS Hood, Barham and Valliant. The unit also had a land base at Kalafrana Bay, Malta. During this time FAA aircraft were flown mainly by RAF pilots and serviced by RAF grew crews aboard ship. The Royal Navy provided the Observers and TAGs (Telegraphist Air Gunners). This practice continued into the early years of World War Two.

The Sea Hurricane Mk.IIC was the ultimate development of the naval Hurricane.
