Assigned to 22 Squadron on 15th April 2010, HRH Prince William had already undertaken service in both the Navy and the Army. Flying as a co-pilot, Prince William assists the search and rescue operations of the squadron. He has already undertaken a number of rescue missions and has proven to be a capable and dependable asset to the squadron.

Gulf War Detachment, Al Jubail AB, Saudi Arabia, Jan 1991, On the evening of the 22nd January 1991, eight members of a patrol with the callsign."Bravo Two Zero"were infiltrated by Chinook helicopters into Iraq.Their task was to observe the main supply route and to sever underground communications cables, which ran between Baghdad and Jordan.In addition, they were to seek and destroy and Scud missiles in the area.Each member of the patrol was overloaded with stores and equipment for the stay, and once landed, the patrol moved some 20k, to where they found a small cave, in which, they chose to hide.The Patrol was led by Sergeant Andy McNab. Corgi's latest model of the Wessex HAS.3 as operating from HMS Antrim in 1982. Humphrey was a Wessex HAS.3 based on HMS Antrim with 100 Flight of 737 NAS. It was used to rescue the crew and passengers of 2 Wessex HU.5 that crashed on South Georgia during Operation Paraquat, the British operation to retake the island in late April 1982. Humphrey also undertook some Spec.ops insertions and rescued a number of SAS/SBS personnel who's motor had failed on their inflateable boats. A famous incident was the depth charging of the Argentinian submarine 'Santa Fe'. The helicopter was retired in July 1982. Rotorspan 237mm,

In this role the Lynx was usually fitted with nine seats and was used to deploy, and support foot patrols in the more rural areas. In late 1983 XZ666 was deployed to Lisanally Barracks in Omagh and used to support the RUC in the Omagh and Carrickmore areas. XZ666 known for obvious reasons as "Damien" was later converted to AH.7 standard and in 2008 was retired to DCAE Aborfield for use as a ground instructional airframe after flying more than 7,000 hours.

Corgi 1/72 Westland Whirlwind HAS Mk VII XN387 Royal Naval Air Service Eglington 1961 (AA39102)

The Whirlwind HAS.7 was the first dedicated anti-submarine helicopter supplied to the Royal Navy. They usually worked in pairs one with the type 146 sonar and the other with a mk30 passive ASW torpedo carried in the recessed bay in the fuselage.

In 1960 719 NAS was activated at HMS Sea Eagle at Eglinton, County Londonderry as part of the Joint Anti-Submarine School, operating with the RAF Shackletons based out of RAF Ballykelly. XN 357 was assigned to the Squadron in May 1960 and on 7th February 1961 it lost power off the coast off Northern Ireland and ditched into the sea. Fortunately there were no casualties amongst the crew who were all safely picked up.
