Corg''s distinctive model of the Gloster Meteor jet fighter in the type's heyday, operating as part of 111 Squadron, RAF North Weald in 1954. Well detailed die-cast metal, with some plastic detailing and a wingspan of 160mm! May be displayed with the undercarriage up or down. Display stand provided.

The Meteor was of course the first effective RAF jet fighter, proving itself against the V1 flying bombs but not having the opportunity to be really tested against the Me262. If you are a jet plane enthusiast, this is where it started!

Following its activities during WW2, no.111 Squadron disbanded in December 1947. On the 2nd December 1953 No.111 Sqn was reformed in its own right as a fighter unit equipped with Meteor F MK8'S at North Weald, Essex, Hunters replaced the Meteors in June 1955 and during this period it provided the RAF's most famous aerobatic team The Black Arrows. In 1958 the squadron set a record which still stands of performing a formation loop with 22 aircraft
