The successor to the Ferrari 360 Modena has been in production since autumn 2004. The new car from Maranello is based on the 360 Modena, but has undergone some obvious modifications. In particular the large air intakes are striking. The rear echoes that of the Enzo Ferrari cars. The new 4.3 litre V8 engine develops a satisfying 490 bhp at 8500 rpm. This luxury sports car shoots from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4 seconds. It has a top speed of 315 km/h. Five different driving programmes, from "normal" to "racing" mode, can be selected. The Formula 1 technology incorporated is also evident in the rocker switch gear shift behind the steering wheel. The 430 offers comfort and safety, but it remains a road car in the special class with unique racing characteristics.
