The Ferrari 308 (= 3 litre 8 cylinder engine) GTB was presented to the public for the first time at the Paris motor show in 1975. Pininfarina was again responsible for the design of the bodywork. The new two-seater had a sloping front that called for pop-up headlamps and had an angular rear with a restrained spoiler. The sportiness of this two-seater was accentuated by the well-balanced proportions and the striking side air intakes to improve engine cooling that would continue to be used by Pininfarina on other models. The transverse mounted 2926 cc, 8 cylinder engine delivered 225 bhp. The 308 GTB reached a top speed of 252 km/h. This two-seater founded a range that would continue to be made for 16 years
