From Monday the 26th September 2011, customers using First Potteries Service 25 (City Centre to Keele via Stoke and Newcastle) and Services 26/26A (City Centre to Newcastle via Bentilee, Meir, Longton and Stoke) noticed some significant differences to the service they received. ‘Gold Service’ was launched and as well as having dedicated drivers and extra bus cleans throughout the day, one bus on each route returned to heritage red and yellow livery, which was first introduced in 1986 when the former PMT company was subject to a management buyout upon deregulation and privatisation.
