In 1932 there suddenly appeared on the London streets, a revolutionary new design with a full and seats in the position where orthodox passenger vehicles had engines.An entirely new design of chassis was evolved by AEC at Southall,with the engine positioned on the offside frame member behind the front axle.After sucess of the single deck Q with L.G.O.C and provisional operators, the L.P.T.B ordered 102 4Q4 for country area bus work, which entered service throughout 1935.Although far ahead of its time, the Q Type was only in production for 4 years but it proved the way for underfloor engined type so much in evidence today.

The Park & Ride service at Black Ash operated by Cork City Council is the first permanent bus-based Park & Ride facility in the country.Cork City Council is also the only local authority in Ireland to hold a bus passenger licence.The Volvo B7TL with East Lancs Vyking body is one of three vehicles placed in service in Cork during during 2004 on a Park & Ride service operated on contract to Cork City Council.The distinctive livery includes the coat of arms of the City of Cork and the logo of Cork 2005.

The first Douglas Corporation motorbuses arrived in 1914 - a Tilling-Stevens and a Straker-Squire and many more of the former were bought until 1930.The model Fleet no.52 registration FMN 955 was one of three acquired in 1945 and served with the corporation until its withdrawal in 1970. Model length 108mm.

Translink is a brand name introduced in late 1996 to cover the intergrated services of public transport operation Citybus,NI Railways, and Ulsterbus which operate scheduled bus and rail service in Northern Ireland, including cross-border and cross-channel links, Fleet no.1821 is an Optare Solo M850 and was new in April 2000, entering service with Ulsterbus at its Coleraine Depot.
