Among the most impressive long distance trucks to operate between the Cornish peninsular and the capital were the AEC 8 wheelers of Suttons (Cornwall) Ltd. Every night they carried fresh fish in refrigerated containers from Newlyn to London's famous Billingsgate market.During the 70's the company switched to buying Fodens and changed their livery to a bright yellow.Eight wheelers were favoured as the narrow roads and premises in the Cornish town did not suit long articulated vehicles.
The AEC model depicted is in the earlier green livery before the company change to Fodens and yellow livery, model length 18cm, the model is finshed with green cab with white piping, refigerated van in white wording in red edged black, limited edition certificate included in the form of a tax disc | |
