The E-2C Hawkeye is a "flying radar station", a piece of equipment that has been used in this modernised version by every US Navy aircraft carrier since 1973. By means of the APS-125 radar (or new APS 139/139) up to 250 sea and land targets can be located within a radius of 370 km and over 30 intercept operations can be controlled. The operating time is over 6 hours.
