Mr.Malcom Kettlewell started the business in 1960 after purchasing his first wagon,
becoming owner-driver, hauling sand and gravel from his home in Baldersby, near Thirsk.New
premises were purchased in 1973 at Melmerby to accomodate the growth of the
business.Expanding in 1983 by building a warehouse complex of 26,000sq ft. Today the
Company has 25 wagons used mainly for transporting animal feeds and the handling of
18-20,000 tonnes of sugar beet annually
