First Glasgow is the largest bus operating company in Scotland, serving the Greater Glasgow region. Founded in July 1998, First Glasgow was created through FirstGroup Plc’s buyout of the former regional operator, Strathclyde Buses. The fleet consists of over nine-hundred buses, operating out of six depots around the city, carrying around one-hundred and fourteen million passengers a year, over eighty different bus routes.
The bus modelled here is based on route 75 which operates from Milton to Castle Milk via the City Centre, passing Hampden Park. This route is categorised under the ‘simpliCITY’ branding, which was introduced in 2013 to simplify the key central bus routes through the city of Glasgow. The new scheme means that buses will be as frequent as every 10 minutes, competitively priced and offer free WiFi on many of the buses.
