Preston Bus can trace it’s proud history back to the late 19th century and the horse drawn trams of the Preston Tramway Company. Electric trams operated from the company‘s present headquarters on Deepdale Road from 1904, and the first Preston Corporation bus service started in 1922. After deregulation in 1986 the company was sold to its employees in 1993, and became Preston Bus Ltd. More recent history has involved some upheaval and two changes of ownership, but it now looks forward to growth and stability under parent company Rotala.
Preston Bus currently operate 20 Dennis Tridents out of a total fleet of 99 buses. Bus 40590 is one of 18 Tridents with East Lancs Bodywork. It can be seen regularly on various services of the Preston Bus City Network, including the Moor Nook 8, which runs every ten minutes during the day.
