Back in 1890 the Delaine family introduced horse-drawn vehicles to Bourne, Lincolnshire, for people who wished to travel to markets throughout the surrounding areas. In 1919 the first Delaine motor bus was introduced and in 1923 services from Bourne to Peterborough, Stamford, Spalding and Grantham were established. Today, with a careful blend of tradition and understanding of current market demands, Delaine Buses are operated by the fifth and sixth generation of the family, with a fleet of twenty four buses – including the Wright Eclipse Geminis seen here, and the core business is still based around some of the original services.
