Airfix 1/72 British Chieftain Tank MBT Tank Plastic Kit (02305)
The main battle tank of the British Army, the Chieftain, is probably the most powerfully
armed and best armoured tank in use today. It has been designed to out-gun any potential
enemy and relies on heavy and well sloped armour to provide immunity against most weapons.
The main armament of the Chieftain is a high velocity 120mm gun in a stabilised mounting and using separate bagged charges rather than cartridge cases. A 13mm ranging machine gun and two 7.62mm machine guns are carried. Power is provided by a 19 litre multi-fuel engine which gives a maximum speed of 40km/h and a range of 400km.
Weight is approximately 51 tons and length with gun forward 10.77m.
