Hoveringham Gravels was formed in the Trent Valley back in 1939, operations beginning on the 3rd Sept - the very day Britain went to war.After the war the Company was purchased by Hull - based gravel merchant Harold Needler and rapid expansion took place. Hoveringham quarries were established in many parts of the UK and as far afield as Canada. The Company is best remembered for its immaculate fleet of orange vehicles and trademark 'mammoth' logo.
