Many companies, from the smallest of country coal merchants to large multi-national oil suppliers owned or leased wagons. Many operators chose to paint their wagons in bright liveries as a travelling advertisement.

Bachmann OO Shaka Salt 7 Plank Fixed End Wagon (37-110)


Many large companies operated their own wagons to collect coal for the factory boilers. This wagon carries the lettering of the Shaka Salt company, more commonly remembered for the covered salt vans. The salt vans were usually based on open wagon designs and it is possible that the prototype for this model may have been convertable for use as an open wagon or van.
