Airfix 1/24 Harrier GR3 VTOL Aircraft (18003) A very large model scale model of the RAF Harrier GR3 'jump jet' fighter-bomber. Single-engine "jump-jet" fighter-bomber and ground support aircraft. Manufactured by Hawker Siddeley Aviation and first flown on 31st August 1966, after a long period of development. Powered by a vectored-thrust turbofan engine, the plane diverts engine thrust downwards for vertical take off, using rotatable engine exhaust ports. It can carry a combination of armaments, including air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface antiship missiles, rockets, and bombs. Ground-attack versions of the Harrier can carry two 30-millimetre cannon.
