Bachmann OO BR D867 Zenith Warship Class 42 B-B Green Late Crest DCC OnBoard (32-051DC)

Built in Swindon the class 42 Warships were a scaled down version of Germanys V200 diesel hydraulic class designed to fit within our British loading gauge for service on the Western region. The use of the light weight high speed diesel engines allowed the Swindon engineers to deliver a 2,000 bhp locomotive with a weight of only 78 tons, at a time when comparable diesel electric designs weighed over 130 tons.

The Bachmann model features a heavy diecast chassis and a powerful centrally mounted motor driving both bogies. These model locomotives are capable of excellent smooth, slow running and prodigious feets of train haulage.

D867 Zenith is painted in the early BR locomotive green livery with small yellow warning panel, this is the most common Warship livery, the class having only a brief maroon phase before rail blue took over.
This model is supplied with a factory-fitted DCC decoder. Suitable for use on DCC and DC control layouts.
