Heljan OO BR W55992 Gloucester Diesel Parcels Multiple Unit Green with Yellow Gangway Covers (8901)

A highly detailed model of the Gloucster RCW built BR class 128 diesel parcels multiple unit.
Heljan have promised detailing on this model with greatly improved depth, including full underframe detail, described as including the fan at the back of the radiator being visible.

The GWR built two of their streamlined diesel railcars for express parcels services. When the new BR standard design units were built these Gloucester single units were built for the same express parcels services. Allocated to the western region and later the Midland region the parcels units could be operated alone, coupled in multiple with to passenger-carrying diesel units and could also haul one or two parcels vans.

Four versions are being produced to represent these units at different periods of their lives. This model will carry an early revision to the green livery, with white cab roof domes and the corridor gangway covered painted yellow. The equivilent of the small warning panels on locomotives, this particular variation was only carried by those few diesel unit designs equiped with front end gangways.
