The turret turns and the main gun moves to engage the enemy. The hatches open, the side skirts can be removed. The Panzer IV Ausf. G was a continual improvement on the formidable Panzer IV tank. The Ausf. G featured a more powerful & longer barrel 75MM gun that provided a stronger counter to the improved Russian T-34.
It Had a Crew of 5 and was 2,880 mm wide, 2,680 mm high. The Armor was 50 mm thick on the front and 30mm on the sides and 20 mm on the rear. The tank weighed 23.6 tons. Its gun was a 75 mm KwK 40 L/43. It also carried two 7.92 mm MG 34 (machine gun)
It was driven by a Maybach HL 120 TRM 12 Cylinder diesel engineand had 6 forward gears and 1 reverse gear. Its Maximum speed was 42 km/h and had a range of 210km | |
