Very impressive piece of modern American technology faithfully reproduced by Revell. The Paladin has a calibre of 155mm and can fire a shell 30,000 Metres. A real case of anytime anywhere.

The M 109 A6 Paladin self-propelled howitzer, which was introduced in September 1990, is currently the most advanced piece of ordnance used by American artillery units. The latest version of this self-propelled howitzer was developed as a result of a combat efficiency upgrade of existing vehicles known as the HIP (Howitzer Improvement Program). The most striking difference from its predecessors is the new turret with redesigned armour and hydraulically powered traverse system. The equipment inside the turret includes the fire control computer and a vehicle navigation system that enable the gun to be aimed automatically. Compared with its predecessors the Paladin received a modified 155 mm/L 39 longer barrel M 284 (cannon Howitzer) to fire more powerful ammunition. Using the M 203 propelling charge, it can fire a maximum distance of 30,000 m, rising to 40,000 m with accelerated rocket assisted projectiles (RAP). The commander's cupola of the Paladin has been redesigned to accommodate an 0.50 MG M2 or a 40 mm Mk 19 automatic grenade discharger
