Because of its special combat environment, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is equipped with many peculiar weapons and equipment, one of which is the D9R armoured bulldozer with slat armour. The D9 bulldozers are originally designed for building, logging and mining purposes. The Ramta Division of the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) developed an all-new armor suite, Daqhpor Memugan, for D9R bulldozers which were in the IDF service in a large number in October 2003. This armour suite can provide overall protection to D9Rs. From 2005, D9Rs have been added with the slat armour suite, which is effective in protecting them from RPG-7 attacks. Besides, weapons like machine guns and grenade launchers can be added on top of the cab for self-defense.
