The development of the world famous jeep-like Kubelwagon of German Wehrmacht is traced back to 1938. based on the original VW model, the Kubelwagon predecessor, type 62 was built and introduced to the public in the spring of 1939. technical enhancements eventually gave rise to type 82, which was built starting in 1940 and delivered to thr squad shortly after that , at a price of 2782 marks. Because of its cross-country mobility and robustness, this cehile became very popular among soldiers: it was just reliable in the heat of Africa as it was in the cold winters of Russia. | |
