Jaguar’s return to the World Sportscar Championship came good in 1987 with the XJR-8 developed with Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR). It was Jaguars first ever World Championship. But four outright Le Mans wins between 1951 and 1957 were what had made the British automaker a household name. The return to racing in the 1980s had one main objective: another victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans! The XJR-9LM, a purpose-built derivative of the XJR-9, was the right tool for the task. In 1988, the Silk Cut TWR Jaguar team put an end to Porsches streak of seven consecutive victories and re-established Jaguar's reputation in an instant by taking the top honours. The "leaping cats" from Coventry, England were back with a vengeance!

Some of the detail on this superb model are fully die-cast body and chassis with removeable rear body cover, fully wired and plumbed Jaguar V12 engine, race scrubbed dunlop-denloc slick rubber like tyres, steering function, front mounted cooling radiator faced in photo-etch metal, to appreciate the detail the model has to be seen
