Whether you liked him or not, and for whatever reason, it would be difficult to argue against the fact that Juan Pablo Montoya added colour to F1 during his stay. In his first season as an F1 rookie he provoked plenty of controversy yet a surprised a lot of people at his potential. The eventful first year left everyone curious as to what heights this new talent would reach. What was most notable about Montoya was how he either raced brilliantly, or finished miserably. Though he must have been doing something right because Big Ron welcomed him into McLaren-Mercedes but it was his performance at McLaren that sometime let him down. Was it due to the fast yet unreliable car beneath him? Or was it because he had a potential world champion as a teammate? Was it due to his fiery and feisty temperament? Did all these factors combine to make his decision to leave the world of Formula One for NASCAR?
