The Rubber Powered Motor, already known to the technical genius Leonardo da Vinci in the 17th Century, is probably the simplest and most natural power-source to keep flying models in the air for a long time. As long as a strand of rubber is put under tension by turning the propeller, and when the latter is let go, the stored-up power is released slowly and steadily. By using simple, effective rubber-powered motors in flying models, Gunther became the pioneer of a new era of flying toys over 50 years ago. As a result of the excellent aerodynamic flight properties of Gunther models, the power of the twisted rubber band can be used to the full. The flying-models take-off with a flourish, disconnect the free-weeling propeller when the bands has unwound and land elegantly like a glider on the ground. They only need to be "recharged" by hand to take on more power for yet more elegant flights.The Catapult Gliders are small, racy planes with safety nose and very durable plastic fuselage. These planes are the classics among the Gunther range. Simply apply the flying model to the catapult, stretch and release! Some models have foam wings with excellent fight capability but our favourites, and which we mostly feature, are those with wire frame stressed plastic sheet wings. These are strong and durable and, with a little gentle bending, can be adjusted to give long flights. Particularly down a slope 100 yards or more is achievable. Tire the kids out!
