By 1969 the Can-Am series had reached its zenith with 11 races scheduled and a $1 million unlimited sports car racing championship.The McLaren team had a perfect season winning 11 out of 11 Can-Am races in 69, they had 8 one-two finishes and, in one instance, a one-two-three finish. There was no doubt that in 69 McLaren was the best prepared team.
