The Caterham Superlight series No.19 was driven to a successful
Championship win in 2014 by Aaron Head. Aaron graduated from the world
of karting as one of the sports most accomplised racers into racing
Caterham race cars in 2011 when, in the Caterham Roadsport Championship,
he finished 4th. The momentum was with him and in 2012 he was crowned
the 2012 Caterham Supersport Champion, 2013 saw a season of challenges
with the Caterham R300 Championship with good results nd finally, in
2014, Aaron again stole the Championship crown.
The first Seven was built in 1957 by Lotus, the brainchild of Colin Chapman, who was convinced of the advantages of small lightweight racing cars, giving huge power to weight benefits. He actually referred to the Seven as something he had dreamed of designing since he was a schoolboy - a 'four wheeled motorbike'. The quickest Caterham - the R500, introduced in 1999, has a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds (autocar) and a top speed of 146 mph
