Hall Trophy in 1970. He entered six Formula One World Championship Grand Prix during 1975 to 1978. The Scalextric car represents the 1978 British Grand Prix entry of Melchester Racing. Driving the McLaren M23, he finished a superb third in the rain-soaked 1978 BRDC International Trophy non-Championship race on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Although qualifying sessions had been dry, the 40 lap race was run in torrential rain, resulting in multiple accidents and drivers spinning off. The top step of the podium was taken by Keke Rosberg. Emerson Fittipaldi was second. That year Trimmer won the British Aurora F1 Championship
