Plastic kit for the Russian Ilyusin IL-2 single seat ground attack aircraft flying on the Ukranian front during WW2. Kit contains over 120 parts with recessed panel lines, a fully detailed cockpit interior, optional tyres and external ordnance loads. Paint and adhesive required.

The IL-2 was named the 'Flying Tank' for good reason, this heavily armoured plane was used with devastating effect on German forces in the Soviet Union. First flown in 1939, the Ilyushin series started life as a single seater and later developed into a two seater with a rear gunner. The entire front of the aircraft was constructed of armour plate while other parts of the plane were made of aluminium or wood. Over 36,000 IL-2's were built making it the most produced military aircraft in history. This kit represents an aircraft with metal 'straight' wings and an aluminium fuselage.
