Hornby OO LSWR 245 M7 Class 0-4-4T LSWR Livery NRM Collection R3204

Although best known as the Southern's M7 class these sturdy 0-4-4 tank engines were first introduced in 1897 by the London & South Western Railway - well before the formation of the Southern Railway in 1922. Classified 2P, the M7's proved to be well liked and versatile engines often found on branch line passenger duties. Hornby have replicated the original L&SWR pale green livery on this NRM collection model of number 245.

The Hornby M7 is a highly detailed model featuring many prototype specific parts to represent main frame and boiler fitting variations. Full cab interior detailing is fitted, the spacious cab being completely clear of the motor. Adequate weight and good balance has still been achieved andcoupled with power from a 5-pole skew wound motor the chassis provides excellent smooth running and enough traction for a realistic train to be pulled.
