Hornby OO R3324 LNER 635 J50 Class 0-6-0T Shunting Engine LNER Black
Hornby Railways R3324 LNER 635 J50 Class 0-6-0T Shunting Engine LNER Black
Expected January 2016
A new model of the LNER class J50 0-6-0T heavy shunting engines with their distinctive slope-front tanks and access slot.
Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley for the Great Northern the class was selected as the LNERs' 'group standard' heavy shunting engine. Like most companys' large shunting engines the J50s were used on a range of duties including local goods trains and some suburban passenger services, though as the LNER was well supplied with medium-sized locomotives the J50s were not used on country branchlines as extensively as their GW and LMS equivilents.
This model will be a very useful addition to the LNER locomotive fleet, filling an important role with a modern, high detail model.
