Ordered by the LNER only the first of the Peppercorn A2 class was delivered before nationalisation on 1st January 1948, though the locomotives were delivered quickly during that year. 60536 Trimbush was completed in May 1948 and remained in service until December 1962
60536 was named after the racehorse Trimbush, winner of the 1947 Doncaster Cup.
