These new type sound locomotives reap the benefit of the Hornby development resulting in an amazingly low retail cost for a fully DCC Sound locomotive. Each locomotive will have no less than 16 Sound functions specific to the chosen model, including whistle/horn, start up, engine idle/steam hiss, wheel slip if appropriate plus a host of other relevant sounds.

6021 was completed in June 1930 and allocated to the GWRs primary London locomotive shed at Old Oak Common. Allocated to Plymouth Laira in the spring of 1959 6021 had returned to Old Oak Common before being withdrawn from service there in September 1962.
